2024: Midnight Mixed Media

Brief: In the tradition of nocturnal adult animation programming such as MIAF’S Late Night Bizarre or Annecy’s Midnight Special. Midnight Mixed Media Studio is an invitation for students to create their own experimental short films. With license to push the narrative boundaries in service of visual investigation. AKA make animation weird again.

Exploring how animation and mixed media as an art form can be used as a means of personal and societal expression. This studio offers an opportunity for students to create work around complex and adult themes.

This studio was delivered as part the Bachelor of Design (Animation) at RMIT University.
